Self Assessment

WWW:

-We nailed the amateur-team recording aesthetic

-I nailed the Hispanic-American accent really well somehow

-The recreation was extremely faithful to the original

-The costume was followed closely as well

EBI:

-It would have been nicer to record this with a steady camera as this was recorded with a phone

-It would have been nicer to be able to have done it in one take.

-Next time edit with Adobe Premier, as this was edited with CapCut (a mobile editing app)

I think the biggest thing we could have used to improve would have been time. Everything was rushed and done very last minute. Timing would've allowed us to have more time to record everything (obviously) but it would've given us time to plan everything and would've definitely given me more time to memorise the script so that I would be able to have done it in one take. Editing could've been improved on heavily as well, since we all used CapCut (a mobile editing app) and its not really on the same level as Adobe Premier. As well as this the editing was also done very last minute and was rushed so that was a bit annoying. A tripod would have been a life saver to have as the filming wasn't the most stable as it was hand recorded via phone so by default the stability isn't the best.

Mise-en-scene in Television and Film is incredibly important and crucial. Without perfect mise-en-scene, a scene will ultimately fail. Mise-en-scene is essentially the backbone of everything you see in TV and Film and with no backbone, there is virtually no support so you'll end up watching someone fall apart. The lighting is in my opinion the most important as it can convey the scenes mood for you. For example, dim lighting/Low-key lighting can either depict something serious or something mysterious and full of suspense. The way the characters keep themselves during the scene is also extremely import as if they don't, they can be regarded as lazy and disingenuine and it kills the overall feel of the scene. Placement is important as it could give a character authority or can be used in clever ways for foreshadowing - the same can be applied to props as well. but foreshadowing with props is mostly used in horror films.
